Watch AI design a make-up look for Lisa Eldridge
When it comes to AI, it seems as if every day we’re hearing about some new and truly mind-blowing advancements—we’re fascinated and it seems that we’re not alone. In her latest YouTube video, the inimitable Lisa Eldridge tasked ChatGPT with creating a customised beauty look for her.
The result pulls from thousands of images and includes personalised shade choices and a mixture of application techniques, including one for a dramatic lip look which, according to ChatGPT is to ‘apply a thin layer of gloss on first and then buff in the velvet matte lipstick’, which Eldridge is a fan of.
As to whether she thinks the job of a make-up artist is in jeopardy? Well, you’ll just have to watch to find out.
This week we're shopping:
The UK's first alteration and repairs app, SOJO, will be offering tailoring services for a month from the Oxford Street location.
Encouraging customers to rediscover the value of items they already own, exchange items for Selfridges credit and repair, and alter and restore clothing and accessories, they're prompting both ethical consumption and bringing life to preloved clothes. “I’m delighted that we are bringing a part of the SOJO studio to a store as iconic as Selfridges," shares Josephine Philips, founder and CEO of SOJO.
"We want to make tailoring and repairs seamless and effortless for all and I couldn’t be happier that we are making our department store debut with them. Plus, we’re excited to contribute to Selfridges' aim for 45% of transactions to come from circular products and services by 2030, a goal that reflects our vision for paving a way towards a sustainable fashion future.” Both same-day and drop-off repairs and alterations will be available - their tailors can do everything from waist cinching to upsizing, zip replacement to denim patching.
It's as simple as booking online, with prices starting at £5.
